The President is considering the option of not reviving OP at all in the format in which it functioned before.
The candidate for the head of the President’s Office seems to have been decided / photo ua.depositphotos.comThe Office of the President is considering delegating some of the OP’s powers to the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). This is reported by “Ukrainian Pravda” with reference to sources.
In particular, according to the UP, the president is considering the option of not reviving the OP at all in the format in which it functioned under former head Andriy Yermak.
It is noted that the candidate for the head of the President’s Office seems to have been decided. Meanwhile, his team is talking about the possibility of transferring part of the analytical work on the OP to the National Security and Defense Council, while Bankova will be left with only patronage functions.
Andriy Yermak’s resignation – what is knownAs UNIAN reported, on November 28, the then head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, resigned. The head of state expressed his gratitude to Yermak for the fact that “the Ukrainian position in the negotiation track was always presented by him exactly as it should be.”
“It has always been a patriotic position. But I want there to be no rumors and speculations. As for the new head of the Office, tomorrow I will hold consultations with those who can lead this institution,” Zelenskyy added.
Since then, there has been a constant question of who will take over the position of head of the OP. Subsequently, Zelenskyi said that due to the constant questions about the appointment of a new head of the OP, one sometimes gets the impression that it is easier to liquidate the office, rather than appoint a new person there.
In particular, the head of state was once again asked about the restart of the Office of the President and the appointment of a new head, to which he replied:
“Honestly, the war is much more important. That’s why it feels like it’s easier than appointing a person to eliminate an office.”
