He, together with the MP of the European Parliament from the Confederation, “Anna Brilka noted that Bandera was” a terrorist who was sentenced to the death penalty for the murder of Poles during the Second Commonwealth.
Menzen added that Bandera also founded the OUN (organization of Ukrainian nationalists – UNIAN), which is “responsible” for the Volyn tragedy, and the Bandera people seemed to “kill 100,000 Poles”.
At the same time, Brilka stated that the Bandera Monument in Ukraine is the same if the Hitler monuments were built in Germany.
“Ukraine should end the cult of Stepan Bandera as soon as possible,” Menzen added.
This video was commented by the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy. According to him, Menzen is a “pro -Russian politician with a Polish passport”, and also suggested that he record such a video near the ceiling at the entrance to the Donetsk region.
“The pro -Russian policy with the Polish passport of Slavomir Menzen should be brave and record a video near the Donetsk ceiling. Can go to the front and share his thoughts, in particular with Polish volunteers. It is necessary to check if he is allowed to enter Ukraine at all,” Sadovy said.
In turn, Menzen reacted to the words of the mayor and stated that Lviv is a “Polish city”, and garden would be banned from entering Poland if he became president.
“I was a Pole and went to the beautiful and cultural Polish city of Lviv, which once the Russians did a lot of harm. There I saw a monument to Bandera, a cult of Bandera criminals headed by Shukhevych. If I win, I will urgently take care of it, ”the politician added.
What is known about Stepan BanderaAccording to open sources, Stepan Bandera was a Ukrainian revolutionary, one of the radical and leading ideologues, practitioners and theorists of the Ukrainian nationalist movement of the 20th century. After the disintegration of the OUN, he was the head of the OUN-B.
It is also known that Bandera and Yaroslav Stetsko were the authors of the Act of restoration of the Ukrainian State on June 30, 1941. Due to his proclamation, the German authorities arrested Bandera, after which he was imprisoned for three years in German camps and prisons.
When the USSR troops were approaching in 1944, Bandera again became the OUN chairman and was its leader until the last days. Already on October 15, 1959 he was killed by KGB agent Bogdan Stashinsky.
The Volyn tragedy is mutual ethnic cleansing between the Polish and Ukrainian populations during the Second World War that took place in Volyn. They were attended by the UPA, which was subordinate to the OUN (b), the OUN (M) military units, spontaneous formations, as well as the Polish Army of Krave. Battalions of Boye with the participation of Polish battalions of Shutsmanshaft, Soviet guerrillas and Ukrainian and Polish civilians.
According to American historian Timothy Snyder, by the end of 1942, the OUN (b) became the main force in Volyn, which began to name its UPA detachments. When the Germans arrested Bandera and destroyed about four -fifths of the leadership, the OUN (b) was predominantly inexperienced youth, who eventually staged ethnic cleansing of the Poles.
In turn, Ukraine was acknowledged that Ukrainian nationalists massively killed Poles in Volyn from 1943 to 1945, but the Polish units of the Krasova and peasant battalions also conducted massacres of Ukrainians. In total, about 30,000 Polish and about 10,000 Ukrainian citizens were killed in this confrontation.
