This was announced by the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, writes MTV Uutiset.

“If the situation develops as expected in the next two to three weeks, the G20 summit in Johannesburg may be the meeting place between Putin and Zelensky,” he said.

Stubb noted that so far there are no signs of a quick ceasefire or truce between Ukraine and Russia. However, he believes that “the work behind the scenes will continue.”

The President of Finland shared that last week he spoke about the war in Ukraine with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He added that the leaders of these countries should meet with US President Donald Trump on Thursday, November 6.

In addition, Stubb emphasized that Finland supports increased military and economic pressure on Russia. According to him, this will help to force Putin to sit down at the negotiating table.
