So China could stop this war. And it should,” he added.
According to the Polish minister, Kremlin ruler Putin will stop only when he realizes that he cannot win at an “acceptable” price. Also, Sikorsky considers nuclear threats only a way to intimidate public opinion in the West:
“Putin is a dictator. He will be restrained by our power, not by his own doctrines. No one is planning any aggression against Russia. It is Russia that is the aggressor. It is Russia that invaded Ukraine. Putin feels safe throwing all his forces into the war against Ukraine, because he knows that NATO is a purely defensive alliance.”
Sikorsky assured that Warsaw supports Ukraine’s membership in NATO and wants the country to win this war. He also advocated the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, the shooting down of Russian missiles and drones that fly into the territory of Poland, and the lifting of the ban on hitting airfields on the territory of the Russian Federation with long-range weapons.
The minister admitted that Poland is worried about the outcome of the presidential elections in the United States of America, but the country wants to have “the best relations” with them, regardless of who wins. He answered the question about “fatigue in the West” as follows: “What are we tired of? It is the Ukrainians who are tired. We must stay the course, because if Putin loses, international law will be restored and Russia will be reformed.”
China’s role in the warThe opinion that Beijing has enough influence to force Russia to end a full-scale war against Ukraine was expressed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and leaders of other countries.
The United States accuses China of helping Russia rebuild its military-industrial base. Beijing assures that it does not help either side, but the country is a close partner of Moscow.
