“We have a Minister of Defense, who clearly understands that if there are pauses in support of our army – from drones to air defense – it will be not only losses from the military, but also losses among civilians, will be more strokes. Russia will be stronger. He cannot make any pauses in deliveries.
Zelensky noted that the Minister of Defense has the right to do everything necessary to ensure that there is no pause in the supply of weapons. He stressed that most of the state budget funds are allocated in support of the army and the purchase of weapons.
“If there is money and a certain delivery has not come, then the minister has to do everything so that there are no more such problems. Because it is our life, and it is the most important thing. And he does it,” the President added.
Personnel scandal at the Defense Ministry – what is knownIt should be reminded that on January 24, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that in the last six months instead of timely provision of the army of ammunition, political games, “showers” of contracts and information were held. In this regard, a decision on personnel changes was made. According to him, the Ministry of Defense puts a requirement in time and in full to provide the front with all the necessary weapons.
In four days, Dmitry Klimenkov was released, who held the post of Deputy Minister of Defense. The decision was made at the Cabinet meeting.
On the same day, “Public” with reference to the notification of the press service of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau reported that criminal proceedings were initiated against Umerov due to possible abuse of power. It is a possible commission of the Minister of Defense of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
