This is reported by Al Arabiya.The publication notes that after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, a flow of various imported goods poured into Syria. In the capital Damascus, shops are filled with things that have not been seen here for a long time – from Turkish bottled water and Saudi food products to Western chocolates Snickers and Pepsi drinks.
In order to support the economy destroyed by the war, the new government announced the permission to use the dollar and approved the simplification of customs duties with their simultaneous reduction by 50-60%. The new government explained this decision by the desire to simplify the import of raw materials to support local producers and stimulate industry.
