The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal said this during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
He noted that if there would be a need to increase the expenditures for the financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the second half of the year, then the government will contact Parliament with the appropriate proposal.
“If there is a need for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then we all carefully translate their calculations, check with the Ministry of Finance, and turn to Parliament as needed for the amount of support for the Armed Forces,” Shmigal stressed.
Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said at a parliamentary meeting that an increase in defense expenditures is necessary for the purchase of weapons and equipment.
“There is an over -planned need for the Armed Forces, which is determined by military time, so we respond to it,” he added.
He noted that all these needs will be closed from internal resources.
“But in any way we do not provide for an increase in taxes,” the minister stressed.
