Photo UNIAN (Alexander Sinitsa)The Ministry of Energy thanked DTEK’s energy company and American Fluence Energy BV for the implementation of the 200 MW energy storage systems in the country.
“I am grateful to the DTEK group for the proactivity in this matter and American Fluence partners for advanced technologies, which allows each new megawatt of accumulation to work as a shield for the entire power system. This means more security for Ukrainians and less risk of emergency shutdowns,” – said Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk.
According to her, the introduced complex is undeniable for the country’s energy stability and provides additional balancing capabilities of the power system in conditions of constant attacks on energy infrastructure.
The total capacity of the system is 400 MW · hours, which will provide electricity to about 600 thousand households for two hours. The complex includes six objects in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Investments in the project amounted to € 125 million.
Grinchuk added that this step will also facilitate the implementation of the National Renewable Energy Action Plan by 2030.
