This was reported by the CEO of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education Oleg Sharov at a press conference dedicated to the preliminary results of the introductory campaign in Ukraine, UNIAN correspondent reports.
He noted that the introductory campaign lasts until October 20 and although the main stages are behind, but the additional sets provided by the legislation will continue, and therefore the final figures will only be understood in the 3rd decade of October. 90-95% of the introductory campaign has now passed.
“As for the introductory campaign to study for the bachelor’s degree, as well as the Master of Medical -Pharmaceutical, Veterinary Direction, this year one multifaceted factor is very powerful on the scale and course of the campaign,” Sharov said.
According to him, it is about the influence of migration processes, the departure of people abroad, first of all. Also, changes in public policy – the education system has become unfriendly for evasion, and this means that these people who come to the HEA for this purpose, as Sharov noted, have become relatively a little. And this is also a factor in reducing the number of education applicants.
“If you say key figures, on registration of electronic offices of potential entrants, on the basis of admission today and to the budget today and to the contract, it is probably a key figure in this contingent is a minus 5% relative to last year. That is, we evaluate the estimated process as a minus 5%.

And commenting on the return of young people to Ukraine, he prevented that there is a fairly stable figure, which is indicative.
Sharov recalled that since 2022 the practice of drawing up a national multimedia test (NMT) abroad and every year there is about 10-12% of NMT participants.
“We are talking about dozens of NMT assembly in dozens of countries. And in principle, to compose NMT abroad, not intending to study at the Ukrainian university, doubtfully doubtful in terms of logic. Although it happens that our NMT is accepted abroad. The situation will be safer.
About top universities
According to a representative of the Ministry of Education, the rating of Ukrainian universities has changed a little this year.

According to Sharov, the entrants from the temporarily occupied territories are “not such a small category”. They enter mostly in the main period of the introductory campaign within the framework of “Quota 2”.
“And already enrolled, as of the beginning of August, about 4800 people. A considerable number of these people were counted a month ago. All who came after that date, they are already undergoing other procedures and are already credited to the contract, and from the contract are transferred to the budget as residents of temporarily occupied territories or residents.
According to him, the period of their transfer from the contract has now begun. And the process will actually last until the 2nd half of October.

Sharov also said that this year the additional exam has been introduced on the number of people who wanted to join postgraduate studies. It is known that the exam was introduced after the abuse for the sake of deferral.
According to Sharov, the numbers this year can not be said, because only the registration of documents of entrants to graduate school starts from September 3. And this process will last all of September.
“However, we see that on the one hand, the number of people who can go to graduate school because they have undergone a single entrance exam, a single entrance test, it is much smaller. But these are more prepared entrants. The percentage of men there became much less, but greater than it was before the war,” the Ministry of Education said.
He noted that more and more requirements are being put in place for graduate students. This is to some extent related to the circumstances of the set of 2022-2023, but in fact there is another side of this process. As Sharov explained, it is said that science in Ukraine is becoming more in demand, such as the same military industry.
