It is noted that servicemen of the Armed Forces who are being treated after an injury (contusion, trauma or mutilation) related to the defense of the Motherland are guaranteed financial support.

Military personnel receiving inpatient treatment receive a monthly stipend for their last positions, i.e. at least UAH 20,100 per month, and an additional remuneration of UAH 100,000. Payments are made for all time spent in hospital and on leave for treatment of an injury, but not more than 12 consecutive months.

The following are also paid as a monthly allowance:

  • monetary assistance for rehabilitation for the relevant year;
  • material assistance for solving social and household issues to servicemen who were injured in the defense of the Motherland.

If a soldier is continuously receiving treatment for more than four months (but not more than 12), financial support is paid based on the conclusion (resolution) of the military medical commission on the continuation of long-term treatment.

The starting and ending dates of treatment should be considered:

  • sent for treatment abroad: until October 5, 2023 – from October 5, 2023; after October 5, 2023 – the day of the start and end of treatment, which are indicated in the discharge epicrisis of foreign health care institutions (other documents confirming the periods of treatment in these institutions), in particular, notes of the border services about the crossing of the state border;
  • sent for treatment within Ukraine: until May 4, 2024 – from May 4, 2024; after May 4, 2024 – the day of the start and end of treatment, which are indicated in the discharge records of health care institutions.

Payment of financial support after four months (but not more than 12 consecutive months) of continuous stay of servicemen for treatment in health care facilities is carried out on the basis of the orders of the commander of the military unit, prepared by the unit responsible for keeping personnel records.

In addition, financial support is paid to wounded servicemen who are recognized by the VLK as limitedly fit for military service or unfit for military service with a review after 6-12 months and placed under the command of the relevant commanders, within two months from the date of placing them in the command (excluding the time spent on vacation and treatment) (without taking into account additional remuneration) for the last position held in full.

After being at the disposal for more than two months and until the end of the stay at the disposal, such servicemen are paid a monthly salary according to their military rank, an allowance for years of service and an additional remuneration in the amount of 20,100 hryvnias (calculated per month in proportion to the time spent at the disposal).
