This is stated in the ministry’s response to the appeal of Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech.
“I received a response from the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine to my appeal regarding “Masha and the Bear”. First, the ministry also supports sanctions for this Russian product,” he said.
Secondly, as Yurchyshyn informed, based on the results of the analysis, colleagues from the ICSC confirm that the owner of the content is the Russian studio “Animakkord”, which pays taxes in the Russian Federation and, despite the Cypriot offshores, maintains a constant connection with Russia through the system of ownership, management and intellectual property rights. So, this company may very well be a sponsor of terrorism.
“And they get money from Ukraine. A very important point: YouTube blocked monetization for Russian authors at the beginning of the Great War. However, these restrictions do not work if the views come from Ukraine. “Animacord” has a Ukrainian-language version of “Masha and the Bear”, which is watched by Ukrainian children, and the money for viewing goes to Russia. That is, they sponsor terrorism through taxes,” the deputy explained.
According to him, in response to the appeal, the ICSC noted that it is advisable to impose sanctions on this cartoon.
“Earlier, the National Police also confirmed the connection of “Masha and the Bear” with the Russian Federation,” he added.

The show features Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Emmanuel Macron and Recep Tayyip Erdogan as babies.
The cartoon is positioned as a “patriotic project for preschoolers” that should “develop analytical thinking” and “teach children to discuss geopolitics.” In the trailer, the characters in the form of children communicated via video link, mocked each other and played with symbolic toys.
It was also reported that Russian propagandists significantly increased their income during the war. For example, the spouses of Olga Skabeeva and Yevhen Popov were recently able to purchase a mansion worth 1.89 million dollars in the suburbs of Moscow. According to journalists, the monthly salary of propagandist Olga Skabeeva is about 1.85 million rubles.
