“Our import is based on market factors and is carried out for the general purpose of ensuring energy security of 1.4-billion people in India. Therefore, it is extremely unfortunate that the United States has decided to introduce additional tariffs for India for actions that several other countries are also used in their own national interests,” the statement said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India also called the US tariffs “unfair, unjustified and unjustified.” In addition, India promises to take “all necessary measures to protect its national interests” without specifying what is being said.
