“I was glad to welcome Foreign Minister Penny Wong to Kyiv this morning. It will be a rich day of meetings and discussions,” he wrote on Kh.’s social network.
The day before, Wong reported on her meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, at which, according to her, support for Ukraine was discussed.
“This is important for Australia, because what is happening in Europe and in our region is increasingly interconnected, and we must work together for peace and security,” the minister said.
According to the Australian government, since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Australia has provided Ukraine with more than $1.3 billion in military support, as well as more than $1.5 billion in general support.
In November of this year, the Australian government announced that it will hand over 14 boats to Ukraine, which will provide fast and highly maneuverable naval capabilities for the Ukrainian military.
