But if there is no delay now, then we will get a huge loss of economy and social problem, because the level of unemployment will be increased significantly. That is why, the expert stressed, Ukraine should press on the European Commission. But there are little appeals from profile and business associations-the authorities should be demonstrated in order to achieve the results.

At the same time, she noted that the government should have a clear request for delay, and immediately planned internal homework, that is, a detailed plan of action.
“Swam is still an economic mechanism that stimulates climate neutrality. Therefore, business is now interested, like all Ukrainians, that it is not just delay, but a real action plan. We are not standing with a stretched hand and asking for a deferral. We ask you to delay the introduction of SVAM in connection with the form majeure, but we will commit internal homework, ” – summarized the expert.
Earlier, the Committee of Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development of the European Business Association also urged the Ukrainian authorities to consolidate in order to delay the introduction of SVAM duties for Ukraine.
Recall that Politico stated that Europe with one hand helps Ukraine with funding and the other introduces a carbon duty SVAM, through which Ukraine will lose 1.4 billion euros every year. But these losses can be avoided by starting negotiations with the EU and receiving privileges, in particular, delayed the introduction of this duty for Ukrainian producers during the war.
