It is about Maryana Oleskiv, who has already commented on her dismissal.
He noted that Yuliya Kasyan, who held the position of head of the public services department, was temporarily entrusted with the duties of DART head.
Oleskiv announced on Facebook that the powers of the head of DART and her five-year term “come to an end, instead the role in the international tourism arena is deepening.”
“For half a decade, I literally lived by work, and the only thing I regret is that every day there was too little time that I allocated to my children. While the difficult process continues, it is not scary to be in it. But now I look back and have the opportunity to realize how incredible we passed the way, swinging on the crazy swing of covid and the Russian invasion, the absence of a tourist system, laws and regulations, skepticism and the reluctance of many to see tourism is a key industry for the Ukrainian economy,” she wrote.
At the same time, he emphasizes that DART is the only one who succeeded in expelling Russia from the specialized organization of the UN (in our case – the WTO of the UN) and it is a pity that they are the only ones.
Oleskiv emphasizes that even despite the war, the industry continues to bring hundreds of millions of hryvnias to the state treasury.
“In the pre-war years, it was, of course, brighter – one promotional campaign targeted at Arab countries brought 100 million dollars to the budget. I am absolutely convinced that this trend will continue and Ukraine will again welcome millions of foreigners who will learn about our ancient culture, history, the beauty of nature and fantastic dishes,” she notes.
At the same time, she wished the new head of DART not to waste all those efforts, “often obtained with sweat and blood, which in their influence and effect go far beyond the borders of the tourism industry.”
Income from tourism in UkraineAs UNIAN reported, the head of the State Tourism Development Agency (DART) Maryana Oleskiv said at a press conference that tourism brought about 3 billion to the budget of Ukraine in 2024.
At the same time, she does not receive ten times more taxes. According to her, the real figure is that after the adoption of the law on tourism and ensuring the transparency of this market, in particular, the submission of statistics on the accommodation of tourists, these taxes can be increased tenfold, and the market will also be able to grow.
