“Then we will be talking about a significant amount of hundreds of millions of euros,” Pistorius emphasized, which may be used for future military aid to Ukraine.
The Minister of Defense of Germany said that the billions that were previously provided in the budget for military support of Ukraine were significantly used or allocated for the intended purpose. That is why he called several times to publicly increase the budget for this year.
At the same time, the politician did not answer how much money the federal government will allocate. According to Spiegel, the Ministry of Defense hopes to receive less than half a billion euros.
“These funds could be used at least to order very urgent packages of spare parts, without which some weapons systems already delivered from Germany cannot be suitable for further use on the front lines,” the journalists said.
