Active work on the creation of the Office of the Military Ombudsman is currently underway.

“To appoint Olga Olehivna Kobylynska as the Military Ombudsman,” said the decree of the President of Ukraine dated October 15.
As reported in the Office of the President of Ukraine, by another decree, the head of state dismissed Olga Reshetylova (Kobylinska) from the position of the authorized representative of the President of Ukraine for the protection of the rights of military personnel and their family members.
It is noted that Reshetylova became the first military ombudsman in the history of Ukraine. The message says that active work on the creation of the Office of the Military Ombudsman is underway.
“The main priority now is the launch of the Office of the Military Ombudsman. At this time, it is also important not to lose the dynamics of processing and responding to the appeals and complaints of servicemen. Both in the status of the authorized president and in the status of the military ombudsman, I will work to ensure a sense of security for the military and to restore justice for them,” said Olga Reshetylova (Kobylinsk).
The message says that the Office of the Military Ombudsman will be a permanent auxiliary body under the President of Ukraine, which will ensure civilian control over the observance of the rights of all representatives of the Defense Forces – active military, fighters of voluntary formations of territorial communities, reservists on training, participants of the resistance movement in the occupation and law enforcement officers participating in hostilities.
The military ombudsman will resolve service-related issues and will consider complaints, may order inspections and work out solutions.
Decree on the establishment of the Office of the Military Ombudsman – what is knownAs UNIAN reported, on September 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a decree on the creation of the Office of the Military Ombudsman. At that time, he noted that it is important that the work of this structure be felt at all levels in the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, everything is being done to strengthen the army and strengthen the soldiers in our army.
As reported by UNIAN, Olga Reshetylova (Kobylinska) has been in the position of the President’s Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Servicemen since December 2024. She is a well-known human rights defender.
