Former Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich reported on “News.live”.
“If we are talking about 25-26 thousand hryvnias now the average salary in Ukraine, it means that people live for such money and the conservation of” minimum “at the level of UAH 8.5 thousand – is rather a shadow economy than an objective criterion, an objective indicator. Otherwise, people whom we really pay for a minimum wage.
She also noted that setting a minimum wage in the range of 10-12 thousand UAH – a “reasonable lift”, which will provide an additional inflow of money to the Pension Fund by increasing the deductions of a single social contribution. In addition, it will contribute to the withdrawal of some of the shadow economy.
Zholnovich also believes that in Ukraine it would be possible to set a living wage and a minimum pension at UAH 4.5-4.7 thousand.
Salary in Ukraine is the latest newsIn Ukraine, in August, the average salary of full -time workers in the regions was almost UAH 26 thousand, which is 2.2% less than in July.
Earlier it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the budget project for 2026. The government proposed to increase the minimum wage from 8 000 UAH to 8 647 UAH.
The Cabinet also proposed to increase pension expenditures, providing for the indexation of pensions next year.
