At the same time, they stressed that the decision to support such support is made by each country on its own.
This statement was made by a spokesman for the European Commission Marcus Lammer, the public reports. According to him, the European Commission does not comment on the law.
“In general, according to the Temporary Protection Directive, the EU Member States must provide the necessary assistance in the field of social security, health care and livelihood, if they do not have sufficient resources,” Lamart says.
At the same time, he noted that there was no specific amount of such assistance or the minimum threshold. The amount of support is determined by the countries that accept Ukrainian refugees.
However, Lammer also stressed that Brussels provides Member States of Significant Financing to help refugees from Ukraine.
“Recently, we have published a decision to grant another 3 billion euros for Member States receiving Ukrainian refugees,” the European Commission representative summarized.
