Proficiency in English will be mandatory for some employees of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as part of the military, said the permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Council, Taras Melnychuk.
According to Melnychuk, “The Cabinet of Ministers has determined the positions of officers, sergeants, and senior officers, for which candidates from among the military are contractually required to know the English language.”
The government’s decision, according to the official, concerns the above positions in:
- the Ministry of Defense, the intelligence agency of the Ministry of Defense (GUR) and the Armed Forces;
- State special transport service;
- Administrative State Guard;
- Security Service of Ukraine;
- Foreign Intelligence Service.
- State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection;
- State border service;
- National Guard.
The relevant resolution will enter into force four years after the termination or cancellation of martial law in Ukraine.
