Pavel believes that the Russian Federation can be returned to participation in European security issues, but only after the war is over.

However, this can only happen after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He expressed this opinion in an interview with BBC.
Paul in conversation with journalists noted that Russia should be involved in negotiations on ceasefire and concluding a peace agreement with Ukraine. He assured that the only way to achieve a strong peace.
Pavel added that after that it is possible to begin the restoration of Ukraine, as well as the gradual return of the Russian Federation to participation in matters of European security and restoration of business relations with Moscow.
“But the basic prerequisite for all this is peace in Ukraine,” the Czech President emphasized.
The opinion of the Czech President on the occupation of the territories of UkraineEarlier, the Czech President Petr Pavel stated that if the price of survival of Ukraine is that part of the territory will be temporarily occupied, then it is an acceptable price. He stressed that his country and other allies never legally recognize the occupied territories in Russian.
Pavel assured that now and in the affluent future Ukraine is not able to liberate the territory occupied by Russia. However, he urged to continue providing military assistance to Ukraine.
