Currently, it is not known who will head the Ministry of Statistics instead of Fedorov.
Mykhailo Fedorov will soon head the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine / photo UNIANThe Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. This decision was supported by 270 People’s Deputies of Ukraine.
As People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported, the day before the Verkhovna Rada committee on digital transformation supported the resignation of Mykhailo Fedorov from the position of head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs. He should soon head the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Currently, the candidacy of the new Minister of Digital Transformation is not yet known.
The dismissal of Fedorov is the main newsOn January 2, it became known that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi offered the current head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov to become the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine. He emphasized that Fedorov “deeply deals with issues related to the “Drone Line” and works very effectively in the digitalization of public services.” Later, Zelenskyy held a meeting with Fedorov, discussing the modernization of Ukraine’s defense.
As Bloomberg wrote, by proposing to appoint Fedorov as Minister of Defense, Zelensky is betting on the development of drone technologies.
The appointment of Fedorov means shifting the focus of the Ministry of Defense towards technological warfare, that is, on scaling UAV production, accelerating the introduction of new developments, closer work with private manufacturers and startups, as well as the integration of digital solutions directly into combat processes.
