“The draft law may be put to the vote of the Verkhovna Rada at the beginning of next year”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The draft law was supported by 11 members of the committee, two more abstained.
“Let me remind you that this version is more conservative and was prepared for more than a year in discussions with the committee and the working group. I hope we will be able to bring it to the hall at the beginning of next year,” said the deputy.
Zheleznyak emphasizes that the bill envisages decriminalization of porn, not legalization.
“It is legalized, and we have been collecting millions of taxes from the same OnlyFans for a couple of years. The draft law proposes to change Article 301 of the Criminal Code so that adults are not sent to prison for 3-5 years for shooting and distributing intimate videos,” the post states.
The People’s Deputy added that there will be many amendments to the initiative before the second reading.
The head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, said that he would support this draft law.
“I am convinced that moralizing about the distribution of porn content along with its unimpeded distribution with the payment of taxes, by the way, is hypocrisy, which corrodes public morality much more than any porn,” the deputy wrote.
People’s deputies proposed to partially decriminalize pornography as early as last year. On August 18, the Council registered the corresponding draft law submitted by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, and 24 more people’s elected representatives signed their signatures.
The author of the draft law, in particular, proposed to abolish criminal liability for the production, storage, sale and distribution of porn, and to punish only porn without consent, the so-called extreme, as well as porn with children and for children. But the document was never brought before the parliament.
Last week, there was a scandal with the OnlyFans models, to which the employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine came after they declared their income. The inspection concerned the alleged non-payment of taxes. At the same time, erotic content is still illegal in Ukraine.
OnlyFans is a website launched in 2016. It has no restrictive content policy and allows users to share candid or fully nude photos of themselves in exchange for a monthly membership fee.
