“Today the government announced further military support of £7.5m for new strike and reconnaissance drones, to be invested through a drone development coalition led by the UK and Latvia and taken from an annual £3bn funding pool” , – stated in the message.
The aid is said to be in addition to the £120m announced by the Prime Minister last month for Ukraine’s Navy and Maritime Forces, which will go towards funding unmanned surface ships and maritime surveillance drones.
“This additional support provides another significant boost to strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the face of Putin’s illegal war of aggression. Over the past weekend, Russia launched more than 120 missiles and 90 drones at Ukrainian infrastructure facilities, which led to the deaths of civilians in eastern Ukraine,” the post states.
