The annual budget of Veliky Novgorod: the State Government announced the expenses of the Russian Federation for one shelling of UkraineThe GUR reported that the Russian Federation used 372 means of air attack / Collage: UNIAN, photo: pixabay.com, screenshot from the videoOn the night of January 20, Russian troops spent more than 130 million dollars for one massive attack, which is equal to the annual budget of a city like Veliky Novgorod. The relevant calculations were made by specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

According to the GUR report, the occupiers then carried out a massive air strike on the territory of Ukraine, using a total of 372 means of air attack.

Among them: ballistic missiles “Iskander”, hypersonic missile “Zirkon”, cruise missiles Kh-101, training RM-48U, as well as various drones – “Geran”, “Harpy” and “Gerbera”.

“The total cost of the used weapons exceeds 131 million US dollars (over 10.2 billion rubles). For comparison, the city of Veliky Novgorod with a population of about 220,000 people lives on these funds for a year. This is also compared to a third of the annual budget of the entire regions of Russia: Kalmykia and the Nenets Autonomous District,” the GUR notes.

For this amount, the scouts add, it would be possible to build a modern, fully equipped oncology center capable of saving thousands of lives. In addition, these funds would be enough to implement hundreds of regional and national social projects.

According to the GUR, such expenses for an aggressive strike against peaceful Ukrainian cities are taking place against the background of a record budget deficit – last year it reached 5.6 trillion rubles ($70 billion), or about 2.6% of GDP.

The report also states that in order to continue financing the war machine, Moscow is forced to raise taxes and excise duties and cut spending on the social sphere, as well as state investment projects.

“Despite the Kremlin’s peaceful assurances and the systemic crisis in the economy and social sphere, Russia continues to finance the genocidal war against the Ukrainian people,” the GUR states.
