Sybig: for participating in the war against Ukraine, the DPRK wants access to Russian technologies

“This is extremely threatening and all this cannot help but worry our partners. That’s why we have to counter such global threats together.””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

Russia’s military-technical cooperation with Iran and North Korea poses a threat not only to Europe, but also to Southeast Asia and the Middle East – this is the opinion expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine at a joint briefing with his Japanese counterpart Takeshi Iwaya.

He pointed out that Russia is strengthening Iran and North Korea in exchange for drones, missiles and troops.

“According to Ukrainian intelligence, Pyongyang seeks to exchange its participation in aggression against Ukraine for access to Russian technologies in missile, nuclear and other military programs. This is extremely threatening and all this cannot help but worry our partners. That’s why we have to counter such global threats together,” he said.

He added that only the support of Ukraine can ensure a just and stable peace, and the defeat of Russia “will stop other aggressors and the entire axis of evil from their aggressive plans.”

The head of the Foreign Ministry added that during the meeting he and Ivaya discussed the formats of Japan’s involvement in the implementation of Ukraine’s victory plan and the peace formula.

Ivaya also reported that the parties discussed the “extremely disturbing situation” with the deployment of North Korean troops in Russia and their direct participation in the war against Ukraine.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan expressed “deep concern” about this matter, because it “will negatively affect not only the situation in Ukraine, but also in Asia.

Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya arrived in Kyiv on November 16 with an unannounced visit.
