The Ministry of Defense notes that the implementation of such a standard brings Ukraine closer to NATO principles.
It is noted that Ukrainian defenders will undergo specialized training in the following main areas: search and rescue activities; survival; avoiding capture; stability in captivity; evacuation training; retraining.
It is said that the training will consist of three levels: basic, intermediate and advanced, each of which has its own specific tasks and training methods.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that it was developed on the basis of the NATO standard and takes into account the national characteristics and combat experience of Ukraine acquired during the repulsion of the aggression of the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian military personnel will learn to survive in different environments: arctic, tropical, mountainous and desert areas.
“Special attention is paid to the organization of search and rescue operations for the effective evacuation of isolated personnel,” the message said.
In addition, the standard contains provisions on specialized training and training of SERE instructors (it is a training program for NATO military personnel to survive in the wild and in a hostile urban environment – UNIAN).
“Preparation for survival in extreme conditions is an integral part of military training. The risk of being isolated or performing combat missions in difficult circumstances accompanies military service. Our goal is to provide soldiers with the necessary knowledge and prepare instructors who will help them withstand the challenges. At the same time, the implementation of such a standard brings us closer to the principles of NATO, which is an important step on the way to Euro-Atlantic integration,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
The training will be conducted by SERE instructors who will undergo regular retraining.
