According to The Guardian, these reasons include the application of sanctions against Iran, the fight against the global security threat posed by the “expansion of shadow maritime activities”, as well as the strengthening of Britain’s defense and security in an era of growing threats.
He also called the landing of the US troops on the ship a stark reminder of how the world is changing and how it is becoming “less predictable and more dangerous.”

Speaking about the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, Gili said that the declaration signed there concerned the provision of a peace agreement, support for the defense of Ukraine, and the sending of multinational forces to Ukraine after the conclusion of the armistice.
He added that he would visit Kyiv “soon” to continue discussing support for Ukraine’s long-term armaments and control over the observance of the ceasefire. At the same time, the American envoy Steve Witkoff, according to a British official, gave “strong commitments” regarding security guarantees for Ukraine.

Shadow Defense Secretary James Cartledge said the Conservatives would support any efforts to bring peace to Ukraine and a ceasefire agreement. At the same time, he asked for an explanation of how many British troops would be deployed. He is also interested in information on the composition of the forces, the part that will be involved in patrolling the demilitarized zone between Ukraine and Russia.
Cartlidge asked which other countries, apart from France and Great Britain, would participate in the deployment of troops. Commenting on the question, John Geely declined to go into detail about the nature of the deployment, the number of troops to be deployed and the commitments of other countries. According to him, the final decision depends on the peace plan. Instead, discussing these details will only make Russian dictator Vladimir Putin more knowledgeable.
