Putin does not want to negotiate, he wants to get out of isolation – Zelensky

According to Zelenskyi, the president of the Russian Federation “negotiates capitulation terms from our side, but no one will give him that.”โ€, โ€” write: www.radiosvoboda.org

Russian President Volodymyr Putin “does not want to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine, but wants to hold such talks with foreign leaders to end his international isolation,” Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized in an interview with Ukrainian Radio.

“I think that Putin does not want peace at all, but that does not mean that he does not want to sit down with one of the leaders (at the negotiating table – ed.). Because for him it is the destruction of political isolation. It is profitable for him to sit down, talk and not agree. He is not allowed to leave, and to talk is to leave somewhere, which means that he needs to unblock it. This is the destruction of isolation… these are steps in the de-isolation process regarding Putin as a politician…” – the president noted.

According to Zelensky, the President of the Russian Federation “negotiates capitulation terms from our side, but no one will give him that.”

“Negotiations with Russia are possible only if Ukraine is not alone and has a strong position,” the president emphasized.

Earlier, on November 15, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the press service of the Bundestag, “the federal chancellor condemned Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and called on President Putin to stop it and withdraw the troops.”

In addition, according to the agency, during the conversation, Scholz called on Russia “to be ready for negotiations with Ukraine in order to achieve a just and lasting peace” and emphasized “Germany’s unshakable determination.”

It is also known that the day before, the Chancellor of Germany had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, and “will continue it after negotiations with the President of Russia.”
