According to him, “it seems logical” that Belgium will send troops within the European peacekeeping forces, but added that “we have not yet achieved it.”
Belgian also severely criticized the actions of US President Donald Trump.
“What Trump does is very non -European. He is also a real bully,” he said, commenting on the behavior of the US President with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky in recent weeks.
At the same time, De Vever emphasized that the actions of Trump do not yet mean the need to “terminate the contracts that have existed for decades.”
“The United States is historically our most important ally in NATO. It does not change with one president,” he said.
