The proposal to make Petro Poroshenko prime minister in exchange for Eurosolidarity’s votes for the 2026 budget and non-provocation of a political crisis and non-interference in peace talks is a humiliating blackmail of Ukrainians and, especially, the military. Political expert Kyrylo Sazonov, who is currently fighting, writes about this.
“The key demand of Poroshenko and his faction in exchange for unblocking the tribune and voting for the 2026 budget is to make the gray-haired man Prime Minister, as well as lift sanctions and close the case of treason. Otherwise, there will be no budget and spoiled peace negotiations,” Sazonov’s post says.
The expert noted that in recent days, Poroshenko has been actively shaking up the situation in the parliament, blocking the rostrum and calling for the resignation of the government. At the same time, the politician tries to present himself as the “savior” of the country, using loud public statements and blackmailing the authorities.
“This week, the “icebreaker” became fully active. He switched from defense to attack. This sugar heavyweight blocked the Council tribune with placards and screams. He did not want the resignation of two ministers, but demanded blood and “the entire government should resign!”, the author writes.
According to the expert, Poroshenko’s behavior has nothing to do with “national salvation”, which he speaks about publicly.
“Novoyaz Poroshenko is impressive in his statements. He seems to be talking about a ‘dialogue of national salvation’, but in a gray-faced way this means ‘bargaining for your skin while the country is being torn apart from the outside’; ‘the question of the trust of the front to the rear’ means ‘we need to transfer a few more millions to the sons who are hiding in London’; ‘The key words of our plan are trust, justice and responsibility’ – in the translation from Roshenivsk to Ukrainian: “Remove the sanctions from me, close the article about treason and give the prime minister, otherwise I will arrange such peace negotiations for you.” This is the whole “plan” of Peter, the expert emphasizes.
Sazonov adds that such blackmail at a time when the state is preparing a budget and conducting complex international negotiations shows the readiness of a politician to put his own interests above the national ones – even despite the threat of an internal political crisis and risks for defense funding.
