There is still no talk of shooting down targets in the airspace of Ukraine.
“We have prepared an air defense system, we also have a reinforced air defense. We are talking about the Rzeszów airport, which is under NATO protection. Our allies America, Britain, Germany, Norway and other countries protect us at the air base. And if this airspace is violated, the missile or the drone will be shot down,” he explained.
According to the minister, there is still no talk of shooting down targets in the airspace of Ukraine, as NATO does not have a single decision on this matter. The Poles will defend their territory.
“Very often we put our F-16s on standby to act accordingly if there is a danger to Poland to defend our territory… There was no such case where a missile was aimed at a target on Polish territory, but yes, last week the Polish The F-16s took off and were ready to defend territory near the border,” Kosinyak-Kamysh concluded.
In Poland, they want to shoot down Russian missilesAs UNIAN reported, earlier President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukraine intends to agree with NATO on the creation of a coalition of neighboring countries to intercept Russian missiles in Ukrainian skies.
We will remind that the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, expressed the hope that NATO and the USA will change their position and allow the shooting down of Russian missiles over Ukraine by the air defense forces of the allies. According to the representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Pawel Wronskyi, because of his position, Sikorskyi “was repeatedly criticized within the Alliance.”
Sikorskyi also stressed that Poland is “constitutionally obliged” to shoot down missiles headed for its territory, but NATO forbids doing so.
At the same time, Moscow threatens NATO countries with “parity” measures due to Poland’s statements about the possibility of shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine.
