“We’re going to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of Mexico. It has a nice ring to it. It covers a large area, the Gulf of Mexico is a nice name. And it’s appropriate,” Trump said.

He also reiterated his call for Mexico to help stop illegal immigration across the US-Mexico border and promised to impose tariffs on Mexico.

In addition, Trump did not rule out the use of the military to establish control over the Panama Canal and Greenland. So, when asked directly whether he rules out the use of “military or economic coercion” to realize his goal of conquering these territories, the newly elected president answered “no”:

“No, I can’t assure you, but I can say that we need them for economic security.”
