As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Kondov said this during the traditional transatlantic dinner of EU and NATO foreign ministers hosted by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. Speaking to his colleagues at the forum, Kondov said that the importance and strength of NATO has proven to be a fundamental security factor in the light of today’s challenges and few could have predicted it 20 years ago.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported the following words of the head of the ministry:

“He also noted that all member states will be safe when Ukraine becomes a full member of NATO.”

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria also emphasized that the strengthening of NATO’s eastern flank and the security of the Black Sea region are of great importance for the security of all countries. He noted that Bulgaria is making certain “efforts in this direction”.

As noted, the transatlantic dinner is traditionally organized by the US Secretary of State for the foreign ministers of NATO and EU countries as part of the opening of the annual session of the UN General Assembly.

In addition, Kondov spoke with representatives of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), one of the most influential Jewish organizations in the USA.

“Minister Kondov had the opportunity to discuss with his interlocutors both topical topics of regional and global importance, such as the Middle East conflict and Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, as well as the organization’s support for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States. In particular, in such key areas as security and defense, trade and investment, energy security and diversification, tourism and promotion of people-to-people contacts,” the press service said.

Kondov familiarized AEK with Bulgaria’s “efforts and successes” in countering anti-Semitism, including in the context of the conflict in Gaza, etc.

Ukraine’s victory planUNIAN previously published the statement of the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak. During a speech at the Council on International Relations in New York, he emphasized that inviting Ukraine to NATO is part of this victory plan. Yermak added that the victory plan consists of military and diplomatic parts.

According to him, Ukraine must have an advantage on the battlefield in order to force Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin to stop hostilities. Yermak noted that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has increased its weapons production sixfold. However, we still lack the resources, technology and time to produce everything we need.
