According to the political scientist, NATO is not too interested in what can happen to Ukraine.

NATO countries are tired of UkraineThe political scientist, analyst of the Royal Institute of Joint Services (Rusi) Samuel Ramani in his column for The Telegraph, wrote that the feelings of betrayal of Ukraine by the US and NATO allies were even more noticeable. According to him, several points indicate this.
In particular, the NATO summit in the Hague does not contain a condemnation of Russia for a full -scale invasion of Ukraine. Even the presence of President Vladimir Zelensky did not allow to conceal that the Alliance was tired of Ukraine, said the political scientist.
Ramani noted that Trump had achieved a great diplomatic victory because his calls for NATO allies to increase defense costs were realized. In the final committee of the Summit in the Hague, NATO’s commitment to spend 5% of its budget for defense was announced and firm support of Article 5 on collective defense was firmly supported.
However, Trump’s comments on the ambiguity of Article 5 forced the Baltic countries to think about whether NATO would resist Russia in the event of an attack, the political scientist emphasized.
Supply of weapons to Ukraine can be reduced even strongerMoreover, Trump continues to signal that he does not want to provide Ukraine with military assistance. The political scientist believes that the supply of weapons to Kiev may be even more reduced.
Due to the strengthening of Russian blows with drones and missiles, Ukraine pays priority attention to air defense systems, including anti-aircraft missile complexes (SAC) Patriot, and refuses its former requests for the supply of a more advanced offensive weapon. Ramani added that the prospects for the transmission of the U.S. Tomahawk rockets or aircraft capable of completely neutralizing the Russian Su-35 fighter jets are very distant.
The political scientist believes that now Ukraine can count on help only from European allies. They compensate for the reduction of weapons supplies from the United States.
In addition, the political scientist noted that Europe plays an important role in strengthening the defense industry of Ukraine. He recalled that the United Kingdom at the NATO summit has announced plans to finance jointly with Ukraine and Germany with drone production initiatives.
However, such promises are not a panacea for Ukraine with weapons, the political scientist said. He assured that the Ukrainian defense industry cannot develop quickly enough to neutralize Russia’s military assistance from North Korea. According to him, now only the unwavering patriotism and tactical ingenuity of Ukraine can slow down the advance of the Russians.
Ukraine’s future in NATO in questionRamani emphasized that Moscow is not interested in the de -escalation of war. He believes that at the same time, long -term prospects for Ukraine’s integration into the transatlantic security system become more vague.
NATO Trump and Secretary General, Mark Rutte, greeted an increase in defense costs among allies, which should increase the long -term stability of the Alliance. However, the lack of mention of the future of Ukraine’s membership in NATO, as well as ignoring a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, eliminates many advantages of this block for Kiev, Ramani is convinced.
NATO softened rhetoric aboutIt should be reminded that in a joint communique, which is published following the NATO summit in the Hague, a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine is not condemned. However, the document is described as a “long -term threat” to the Alliance.
NATO Allies also agreed to increase defense costs. The Guardian also paid attention to the fact that the final communique was much shorter than usual, and consisted of only five paragraphs.
