The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed the activities of a large-scale conversion center through which more than 147 million UAH were illegally withdrawn from the state budget.
Those involved in this crime are directly related to the chairman of the Council’s tax committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, military and political scientist Kyrylo Sazonov said.
“Finally, NABU took up Hetmantsev’s corruption vertical in the tax department. 11 members of the criminal organization were suspected, including the former acting head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine and the deputy head of the tax department in Poltava region,” Sazonov said.
According to the political scientist, the heads of the tax office in the region were appointed “on the direct instruction and assistance of the chairman of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev.”
“These are his people, his vertical. The investigation established that the “envelope center” operated thanks to the abuse of DPS officials — decisions about the riskiness of payers and tax tables were agreed for money,” Sazonov emphasized.
He added that earlier “Hetmantsev’s people” were limited to dismissals, but now “inevitable punishment is coming” for their schemes.
