Musk offered the US to “liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government”

Elon Musk was fascinated by criticism of European governments / photo REUTERSAmerican billionaire Elon Musk, who is to become part of the presidential administration of Donald Trump, proposed the idea that the United States should “liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government.” He conducted a survey with such a proposal on his platform X.

Continuing his public campaign of attacks on current British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Musk retweeted a post by a right-wing blogger. The post accused Starmer of allegedly ignoring crimes committed by migrants and instead protecting migrants from right-wing violence.

“Starmer goes to jail,” Musk wrote, commenting on the retweeted post.

Later, Musk posted a poll on his X page:

“America must free the people of Britain from their tyrannical government”

And two answer options: “yes” or “no”. The vast majority of votes in the survey were given for “liberation”.

screenshotThe Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gar Støre, called it “disturbing” that the owner of the social network interferes in the politics of other countries.

“I find it disturbing that a person with huge access to social networks and large financial resources is so directly involved in the internal affairs of other countries. This is not how it should be between democracies and allies,” Støre told public broadcaster NRK.

Støre was responding to a question about whether he was concerned about Musk’s possible meddling in the Norwegian election.

“If we saw this in Norway, I hope and assume that the united political environment of Norway would have warned and distanced itself from it,” Støre added.

Musk intervenes in European politicsAs UNIAN wrote, in December, Elon Musk made a number of statements regarding the domestic political situation in Germany. In particular, he directly supported the right-wing populist party Alternative for Germany, which is suspected of ties to Russia.

Musk is also actively attacking British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on social media, accusing him of not wanting to investigate crimes committed by migrants.
