The level of trust in the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is decreasing, but the head of state is still trusted by more than half of Ukrainians, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from December 2 to 17, 2024.

As of December 2024, 52% of Ukrainians trusted Zelensky, 39% did not trust him, and another 9% answered that they could not decide. Confidence indicators worsened over the year, but the balance of trust-distrust remains positive and amounts to +13%.

As of the end of 2023, 77% trusted the president, but by February 2024, trust had dropped to 64%, and by May 2024, to 59% (at the same time, the share of those who did not trust him increased from 22% to 36% during this period) .

Subsequently, until October 2024, the situation stabilized, but between October and December 2024, the level of trust began to decrease again, although not so much at the expense of those who do not trust, but at the expense of those who have an uncertain attitude towards the president, that is, uncertainty increased primarily, and not distrust.

During the December survey, KMIS employees interviewed 2,000 respondents. The survey was conducted with adults (aged 18 and older) citizens of Ukraine who, at the time of the survey, lived on the territory of Ukraine controlled by the government.
