Medicine manufacturers have never reduced their prices contrary to the NSDC and Presidential Decision / Photo UA.depositphotos.comDespite the public order of President Vladimir Zelensky and the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, Ukrainian drug producers have not reduced their selling prices for drugs. On the contrary, for people, the prices of 95% of drugs have even increased.
This was stated by the journalist and economic observer Sergey Lyamets.
“In practice, there was a redistribution of income in favor of several market participants from the manufacturers, and in general, the drugs went up,” – said.
According to the expert, the expected decrease in prices was only 100 names from the List of the Ministry of Health, covering no more than 5% of the market. The prices for the rest of the drugs either remained at the previous level or increased. According to Lyatots, “the feast took place at the expense of pharmacies” – it was they who lost much of the income after the ban on marketing contracts, while the manufacturers left the saved money to themselves.
This situation creates the risks of closure of pharmacies, especially in the frontal regions.
“After the President’s decision, manufacturers should reduce prices at the expense of unexpected ‘savings’. But they did not.
The expert points out that the government’s decision has actually led to anti -competitive redistribution: manufacturers have received an advantage, and pharmacies have partially offset the losses due to the correction of prices for other medicines. Society, according to him, received a dream price mainly for minor drugs.
