He believes that Europe should take responsibility for the future of Ukraine.

According to LRT, the statement was made by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda during a meeting with diplomats. He reported that the country will be able to increase defense costs to 5% of the gross domestic product next year:
“We must continue to persuade our allies, especially those in the west or in the south, that aggressive intentions of Russia are not just rhetoric, but reality, and no European country can feel safe without being ready.”
It is noted that the meeting discussed not only the issues of state security and defense, but also the support of Ukraine. “Europe has to take a great responsibility for the future of Ukraine. Lithuania is ready to continue to give an example,” Nausead emphasized.
Baltic countries are exacerbated by defenseIt is known that the full -scale attack of Russia on Ukraine forced Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to prepare for possible military aggression and against them. All three countries provide military assistance to Ukrainians.
The Baltic countries have already decided to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention on the ban on anti -personnel mines, and have undertaken to significantly increase defense costs.
