Border guards will accompany Russian trains.

According to the minister, the helicopter will be intended to accompany the trains of a special transit scheme and rapid response to potential incidents.
“This helicopter will be used to strengthen the control of trains heading to the Kaliningrad region.
Kondratovichus explained that new threats and challenges have emerged against the background of changes in the security situation.
According to the newspaper, the head of the Main Directorate for Migration and Internal Affairs of the European Commission Beate Gminer was present at the presentation of the helicopter. The event was held at the Aviation Base of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania in delicacy.
The Gminer is expected to discuss further cooperation with Kondratovichus in strengthening the protection of the external borders of the European Union.
It is noted that the European Commission has allocated € 25 million to ensure the safety of a special transit scheme. The helicopter, which was presented on April 7, costs 11 million euros. Two more H145 helicopters have been purchased, which will accompany Russian trains and operate in the event of emergencies or accidents at the Ostrovtsi NPP to find people and medical transportation.
Aircraft are equipped with video surveillance systems, hoisting, search and rescue and fire-fighting equipment, as well as medical care.
“The second and third helicopters will exercise border control, border protection, and will participate in operations in the event of emergencies or accidents at the Ostrovtsi NPP, look for people, transport organs. In fact, the full range of functions performed by VSAT,” explained the head of border.
Lithuania enhances border protectionAs UNIAN wrote, Lithuania intends to replace the border with Belarus and Russia after Poland. The plan of strengthening the border was discussed during bilateral visits with the Ministers of Defense of Poland and Finland.
Lithuania is also ready to consider the possibility of amending the Constitution if the Allies decide to place nuclear weapons or its components.
Poland also announced that it plans to replace borders with Russia and Belarus as part of the Eastern Shield.
