Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko in Frankfurt received a Human Rights Prize named after Franz Vertfel, which is celebrated by the German Foundation “Center Against Bells”. He also spoke with the Federal Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius about further support of Ukraine. Klitschko reported this in his Telegram channel.
“I am grateful to the German Center for Exile Center for Human Rights named after Franz Vertfol. Germany Boris Pistorius, – wrote the mayor of Kiev – addressing the guests of the event I emphasized that this award – a distinction for all Kievans, people of Ukraine, who heroically opposes the bloody aggressor. Countries of Europe can become goals, “Klitschko emphasized.
He stressed that today is a critical moment that requires emergency in helping Ukraine. More severe sanctions against Russia, its energy and financial sectors, confiscation of frozen Russian assets.
“Only prompt effective actions will help stop the aggressor. The only and strong Europe is impossible without free and successful Ukraine! Like all Ukrainians, I believe in our common European democratic future! The main value of which is a person, his freedom and rights.
A separate meeting of the mayor of the Ukrainian capital with the Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius was also held. They talked about further support of Ukraine.
“I noted that we are grateful to Germany, its people for military and economically-financial assistance to Ukraine. In today’s extraordinary circumstances, our partners should act more decisively. There is no time for reflection and hesitation! It takes such actions in support of Ukraine to deprive Putin of military initiative, the possibility of dictation. A prerequisite for the economic recovery of Ukraine is not only about the reform of the aggressor.
The Human Rights Prize of the German Foundation “Center Against Exile”, as the jury noted, recognizes the devotion of Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko Freedom, democracy and human rights – both in Ukraine and in the international arena.
