This was reported by Aktuality.

It is noted that Pellegrini has already visited all neighboring countries as president, but has not yet been to Kyiv, although he previously announced such a trip. However, now he has given up on her.

“Under these circumstances, my trip to Ukraine is out of the question at the moment. If I need to go there just to take a picture, and I’m told that not a drop of oil and gas will go to Slovakia, then I really don’t need to go there . Let no one take offense at me,” he said.

He added that the decision of the Ukrainian government and the president to stop gas transit through the territory of Ukraine “fundamentally threatens the energy security of Slovakia.”

“In a situation where the Ukrainian parliament passes a law that should ban the transportation of oil to Slovakia, even though we have valid contracts, under such circumstances, my trip to Ukraine is currently out of the question,” Pellegrini explained.

Slovakia and the stoppage of gas transit through Ukraine: the latest newsAs reported by UNIAN, after Ukraine stopped the transit of Russian gas through its territory from January 1, 2025, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, threatened “tough measures” in order to force gas to be transported to the European Union.

Even earlier, Fitso accused Ukraine of disrupting the negotiations in Brussels on the termination of gas transit on January 7, during which the consequences of the conclusion of the transit agreement were to be discussed. The Prime Minister then declared that the Ukrainian side withdrew from the discussions.

Fico also threatened to stop the supply of electricity to Ukraine in response to the termination of the transit of Russian gas through its territory after the expiration of the contract between Russia’s Gazprom and Ukraine’s Naftogaz.
