The Ministry of Health was warned that in our country there are three types of poisonous snakes, which should be kept away.
“Most do not pose a threat to human health, however, there are those that should be bearded,” the ministry noted.
According to the Ministry of Health, the following types of poisonous snakes live in Ukraine:
- Viper is common – the most common, happens in Polissya, in the Carpathians, sometimes in the forest -steppe zone. This species is distinguished by a characteristic zigzag strip on the back;
- The steppe viper is a rare type of snake listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Most often lives in the steppe zone, in particular in the reserves of southern Ukraine. It has a zigzag strip on the back.
- Nikolsky viper is a dark, almost black snake listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. He lives in the forest -steppe in the northeast of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Health shared that most often these snakes do not attack people, but try to escape. Therefore, if they are detected, it is not necessary to make sharp movements.
It is noted that the poison of these snakes usually does not pose a threat to life. However, if the bite is obtained by a child or allergic person, you should seek medical attention immediately.
