Three outbreaks of acute intestinal infections were registered in July 14 to 20 July: in Zaporizhzhya, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions. As stated in the message on the website of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 70 of whom, of which 19 children received all the necessary medical care in hospitals.
It is noted that the number of diseases for acute intestinal infections is projected to grow in the summer, so doctors resemble prevention rules and the first symptoms that should be consulted as soon as possible.
“In particular, do not forget about prevention: adhere to personal hygiene rules, wash hands and products; do not consume products stored with storage conditions; wash fruits and vegetables with clean water before cooking; not to neglect the time of heat treatment of meat and fish products, etc.”
It is emphasized that intestinal infections are transmitted through the consumption of contaminated food or water, while bathing in contaminated reservoirs, through dirty hands and household items.
“Symptoms of acute intestinal infections that should be consulted immediately: dry mouth and throat; fever accompanied by diarrhea and vomiting; abdominal pain; slight urination or absence of it,” the ministry reminded.
It is also noted that the most common factors for the transmission of intestinal infection are ready -made dishes and confectionery, milk and dairy products, eggs. And the pathogens of intestinal infections are most often found in raw foods of animal origin (meat, eggs, unpasteurized milk, seafood), unwashed fruits and vegetables.
The risks of infection increase during violation of the conditions of storage of such products – if the temperature regime, shelf life or transportation rules.
“To prevent infection, all foods should be thoroughly washed and animal foods must be treated with sufficient heat treatment before use,” the Ministry of Health said.
Incident with a well -known restaurateurAs reported by UNIAN, earlier Ukrainian restaurateur Misha Katsurin reported that he had opened a new institution in Lviv. After this event, many visitors came to, it became known that Katsurin himself and his guests were poisoned.
Katsurin noted that “the previous hypothesis is eggs and egg cream in desserts on July 14 and 15.” He added that the restaurant is temporarily closed, because the necessary checks are ongoing and all products will be disposed of.
According to law enforcement agencies, 43 people were injured, including three children. Police have opened criminal proceedings against this incident – under an article on violation of sanitary rules and rules for the prevention of infectious disease and mass poisoning.
