In addition, regional departments in the Foreign Ministry will now be the first and second European, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa, Africa and regional African organizations.
“This will bring the structure of our Foreign Ministry in line with European standards and practices,” Sibiga added.
At the same time, the US and Canada management will be distinguished from the Latin America and the Caribbean, because it is a separate direction of work that cannot be “mixed” with Latin American affairs.
From now on the Foreign Ministry, a special representative will only be on Africa. According to Sibiga, the Middle East and North Africa (the so -called Mena region) “disconnect” into a separate department. The minister stressed:
“And now we will have some new separate governments. For example, the management of unfriendly countries. Not only Russia but also its associates, such as North Korea or Belarus, will be included here. It is not about bilateral relations, but about counteracting threats.
However, Central Asia will be brought to separate management.

Creating a separate structural unit will allow you to consolidate processes and increase the efficiency of sanction work. In addition, the Department of Economic Diplomacy and Recovery will be engaged not only in the opening of new markets and promoting Ukrainian exporters and attracting investments, but also by the processes of attracting international support in the restoration of Ukraine.
