Bloomberg writes about it.

The Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR) and two other nationalist parties that control a third of the Romanian Parliament have submitted a proposal to dissolve the current government. However, the vote for the vote failed: only 147 deputies voted for the minimum required 233.

Now the opposition will not be able to initiate a new vote for dissolution of the Government until September. This will allow the current authorities to easily prepare for the presidential elections, postponed to May due to the dubious victory of the county Candidate of Colin Georghescu in the already canceled first round of voting in December.

Aur made an attempt to remove the government two days after the prosecutor’s office sued Georgescu as the investigation of his election campaign. He is suspected of connection with Russia, which probably has provided him with a victory in the first round of elections.

However, as Bloomberg notes, even an unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the government immersed Romania into a political crisis and led to a splash of support from Georgescu, which remains a favorite in the presidential race.

“The party’s far-right has no plan for the country, a clear policy, and their only doctrine is shock, anger and paranoia. I lived in communism and dictatorship, and I do not want Romania to ever come back to that,” said Prime Minister Marchel Colak before his resignation.

Situation in Romania: The latest newsAs UNIAN wrote, the other day, the Romanian Presidential Candidate Kalen, Georgesska, was detained and taken for questioning the police in the framework of the investigation of his election campaign. During the searches, he found large sums in cash as well as weapons.

We also said that Romanian President Klaus Johannis announced his resignation. The rights of the opposition launched the procedure of impeachment in parliament. And since he still has to leave his post after the May election, Johannis has decided to do it now so that there was no political crisis.
