The article states that using the rights granted to him as a deputy of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in the parliament of the East German state of Thuringia, Mühlmann has repeatedly asked the regional government to reveal details about such topics as the local anti-drone system and the transportation of Western weapons to Ukraine.

In September, in writing, the German politician asked to provide information on the volume of military transit transportation through Thuringia starting from 2022.

At the same time, he asked to provide data broken down by year, as well as by types of transport: road, rail, and also by the number of transits and stops.

The publication notes that Mühlmann denies suspicions of working for Russia. However, in June he submitted 8 inquiries regarding the anti-drone capabilities of the regional police, which is responsible for detecting and countering drones.

In particular, according to the publication, he was interested in whether the police had jammers, net bombs, electromagnetic pulse devices and whether they were suitable for use.

The publication notes that these very questions prompted political opponents to suspect the Democratic Party of Ukraine of trying to reveal confidential information that Moscow could use in the war against Ukraine and to wage a hybrid war against Europe.

“I was struck by the incredible interest in critical infrastructure and security agencies here in Thuringia, especially how they deal with hybrid threats. Suddenly geopolitical issues are playing a role in their questions, but we in the Thuringian state parliament are not responsible for foreign or defense policy,” said Thuringia’s Interior Minister Georg Mayer, a member of the Social Democratic Party.

Germany’s statements regarding the war in Ukraine: the latest newsEarlier, UNIAN reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Johann Wadeful, suggests that Ukraine may agree to a peace agreement and make territorial concessions if it has reliable security guarantees from its Western allies. Vadeful also added that the US should also be involved in this. However, he believes that security guarantees can be discussed only in the case of a ceasefire in Ukraine and when Russia is really ready to think seriously about peace. Vadeful emphasized that this has not been noticed by the Russian Federation so far.

We also wrote that Vadeful does not rule out that Russia may launch aggression against one of the NATO countries after concluding a peace agreement with Ukraine. The head of the German Foreign Ministry warned against excessive optimism and did not rule out that the Kremlin could use the pause in hostilities to quickly increase military power. He refused to estimate the chances of Russia attacking a NATO country, but advised to be prepared for it.
