Olga Stephanyshyn at a briefing in the parliament of the country said this.
She reminded that last week Ukraine, together with Moldova, fulfilled all the conditions that were needed to open at least three clusters of negotiations.
“This is half of the whole negotiation process – the first block – the basics of accession to the EU, as well as the most important clusters concerning Ukraine’s participation in the EU domestic market or relating to foreign or security policy. We can open all these clusters for Polish presidency. [в Євросоюзі]. To do this, Ukraine and Moldova fulfilled absolutely all conditions. Today, the documents provided by the two countries are considered by EU Members and the European Commission, which will give conclusions in 2 weeks on the basis of which we can talk about specific dates. At the same time, she noted that Hungary has not yet vetoed the decision to open clusters. According to her, the government team conducts technical consultations on issues raised by Hungary at the EU level of the SCOCO national minorities.
Stephanyshina said that the parliament has a bill on these issues, which takes into account these parameters.
“Ukraine has submitted to the European Commission proposals for national minorities policy, which take into account all 11 points that have caused concern in Hungary. We hope that the dialogue will be found,” she added.
At the same time, she noted that the dialogue is conducted not only by Ukraine but also by the European Commission, as well as colleagues from other countries.
Negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EUAs reported by UNIAN, since May 12, teams working on a list of tasks under 11 recommendations that are a concern for the Hungarian side have been working on a regular basis.
Budapest used the principle of unanimity necessary to make decisions on the expansion of the EU to block the opening of the first negotiation cluster with Ukraine known as “fundamental issues” that covers the rule of law and the rights of national minorities.
The country requires an additional document from Kiev – the plan of protection of national minorities, including the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia.
