From now on, the pharmacy will not be able to impose marketing contracts for pharmaceutical producers through which the cost of medicines for Ukrainians has grown artificially, reports Pharma Media.

During the online source with Ukrainian and foreign pharmaceuticals, Lyashko emphasized: since March 1, marketing payments that manufacturers have paid pharmacies for promoting their products have been prohibited, and as a result, these costs were transferred to consumers’ shoulders. The marginal margins for medicines were also established and inspections of the State Consumer Service were restored to compliance.

“The reform of the pharmaceutical market is ripe, and we have a clear plan for its implementation, recorded in the NSDC decision. Transparent pricing mechanisms are the key to fair prices for medicines. Thanks to new regulations, we have already reduced prices for the TOP-100 most popular domestic drugs, as well as a dialogue.

Experts say that the cancellation of marketing contracts changes the rules of play on the multibillion -dollar market of medicines.

“By March 1, pharmacies could not impose on patients not the best and cheapest medicines, but those who brought them more income through marketing contracts. In the world it is strictly regulated, and now Ukraine finally took the right step in this direction. Recall that on February 12, 2025, the NSDC made a decision on additional measures to ensure the availability of medicines. As a result, the government not only regulated the marks, but also put an end to marketing payments, which have worked for years in favor of pharmacies and manufacturers, but not consumers.
